Get started with an awesome casino bonus
Whether you are on your phone, tablet or computer, it’s very easy to get started with Roulette online. With the big selection of online casinos that is out there today, you can find a great bonus to get the ball rolling, literally. All the casinos in the list above are not only safe and available for British players, they are also giving new players an amazing bonus to get started with.
Something that have become extremely popular during thet last year, is the Live Casinos tables that you can find on many new online casinos today. With this concept, you can play with a real dealer in real time. The dealer is standing in front of a camera and spins the Roulette ball right in front of your eyes. LeoVegas is a casino with full focus on Live Casino table games. Take a look at the video they have recorded to see how Live Casino Roulette works!
Roulette – how does it work?
Anyone who visited a casino at least once in their life, has probably seen a Roulette table before. Roulette is a popular table game which is played by spinning a small ball inside a wheel. When the wheel stops, the ball will fall into one out of 37 compartments, numbered from 0-36 with a black or red color.
To start playing, you need to make a bet. You can bet on different things, such as “odd numbers”, “red or black”, or specific numbers. The odds of hitting a specific number is obviously 1 in 37, since there are 37 different compartments the ball can land on. Hitting a specific number will multiply your bet 35x, giving you a win of £350 if you would bet £10. If you bet on red or black, you will double your money if you get it right.
A few things are as exciting as placing a few pounds on a favorite number and eagerly wait for the ball to stop…
Roulette betting systems
In Roulette, there are different kinds of systems that you can use to possibly increase your chances of winning. We’ll take a look at some of the most common ones. The best part about them is that they are easy to learn, so you can start winning in no time!
Martingale
Martingale is a famous betting system and is also the most commonly used world-wide. The system is based on betting on either red or black, and then doubling the bet every time you lose. Each time you win, you start over with the original bet amount. Here’s an example:
Bet £1 on black – loss
Bet £2 on black – loss
Bet £4 on black – win
You have now won £1, and then you start over.
The system is not fool-proof however, as variance might strike hard and a bet of £1 could potentially rise to thousands. However, if you had an unlimited bankroll and could play on a wheel without a betting limit, you would never be able to lose. The chance of hitting black in five spins is 99%, so you need to be very unlucky to lose.
Grand Martingale
As if Martingale wasn’t crazy enough, Grand Martingale is even more extreme. With this system, you increase the bet amount with one extra bet every time you lose, which obviously increases the variance but also gives you a chance to win bigger amounts. Take a look at this example:
Bet £5 on black – loss
Bet £15 on black – loss
Bet £35 on black – loss
Bet £75 on black – win
So, you double your bet every time you lose, just like in Martingale, but you add an additional £5 (the original bet) on every spin as well. This means that every time you win, you’ll earn £5 for every time you’ve missed. If you’re short on time or want a faster result, we recommend Grand Martingale rather than the normal Martingale system.
Paroli
Paroli is based on betting “harder” when winning, and taking advantage of your “hot streak” in Roulette. The goal of this betting pattern is to win three times in a row, and once you do, you win big!
Betting with the Paroli system in Roulette means that you place a “normal” bet until you win. Once you win, you double your wager and place another bet on top of it (just like in Grand Martingale). You repeat this two times only, and then you go back to the normal bet amount until you win again.
Example:
Bet £5 on black – loss
Bet £5 on black – win
Bet £15 on black – win
Bet £35 on black – win
Bet £5 on black – win
Bet £15 on black – loss
Bet £5 on black… etc.
Whether you win or not on the third and last “hot streak spin”, you lower your bet amount to the normal bet of £5 on the next spin. Paroli is definitely our strongest recommendation as it’s obviously more fun to go on a hot streak and win even bigger while doing so!
Calculating odds in Roulette
Calculating the odds in Roulette is simpler than you’d think. If you for example would like to calculate the risk of missing a bet on black ten times in a row, you use the following formula:
(19/37)^10
19 = The 19 fields you have not placed a bet on
37 = The total amount of fields the ball can land on
10 = Ten times in a row
The story behind Roulette
This popular table game was officially first seen during the 17th century, and is said to be invented by the French mathematician Blaise Pascal. However, it’s likely that the game was invented in China even before, and then got picked up by French monks who was living there during that time. An updated version of Roulette was then created by Francois and Louis Blanc who brought the game to Monte Carlo and Germany while it was still banned in France.
Fun facts about Roulette
If you add the total value of all compartments in Roulette (0-36), you get the amount 666. Due to this, the game has been called “The devils game” world wide. Back in the days, people suspected that the Blanc brothers literally had made a deal with the devil, due to the enormous success of the game.
